Football, Football...and more football

Are you ready for some football?? This will be my life for the next couple of months. Between practices and games it is an everyday thing. Logan and Spencer each had their first games yesterday. Luckily they were both playing in Vernal so I could watch a little of both games.

Logan plays on the Utes Freshman team. He plays starting receiver and defensive back. They played Altamont's JV team and got stomped. Altamont beat them 30 to 0. Ouch!! They were a little sad to get beat their first game of the season. Their next game is next Thursday in Rock Springs, WY. Hopefully they have a better game.

Spencer is on the Vernal Youth Football League. He is on the Raiders Team. He plays defensive and offensive lineman. His team played the Buccaneers yesterday. The Raiders got beat by 2 points. I'm still not sure what the final score was. One of the boys on Spencer's team got his leg broken during the game and had to be taken out in an ambulance, so I think the whole teamed was kind of bummed about that.

Both boys played good games. Both are excited to play more games this season. Dean is president of the Youth Football League this year, so I hear about football more than I want to in a day!! I just wished that I liked football more. Sshhh...don't tell the boys that! :)

First Day Of School

I am a little late with this, but I have to do a post about the first day of school. It is just a Mom thing!! They started Monday. They all reported that they had a good first day. But that is about all I got out of them.
I love my kids home during the summer, but I have to admit that first day of quiet was very nice. Now it is just busy trying to keep up with what each of them are doing. But I do enjoy seeing my kids growing and learning more each year.
Logan - Freshman

Spencer - 7th Grade

Caitlin - 6th Grade

Tennis Anyone?

Caitlin and Makayla started a tennis class a couple of weeks ago through our Rec. Center. They absolutely love it. They go two nights a week and if you ask them, that is not enough.
(Logan was the photographer for all these pictures. He wanted me to add that!)

Getting ready for tennis class!

Hoping to learn a few skills.

Makayla and Caitlin try to hit a few balls.

I guess tennis makes you thirsty!

What a goofy girl!

What the.....??? There is NO sleeping in tennis!!!

Maybe they are teaching them a new way to play.

She is just happy to be there!

Metal Mouth.....

Today Caitlin got her new braces. Just in time for the first day of school next week. It really wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be. Here are some pictures:

Here is Caitlin this morning before going to the orthodontist.

(and she is wearing her cool new Taylor Swift shirt that she loves!)

Here she is getting her braces on. Doesn't she look cute? She couldn't say much but she kept giving me the "thumbs up" sign.

Caitlin with her new braces!! Despite the pain of getting her braces on, I think she actually kind of likes them. Now in two years she will have the most beautiful smile ever.

Next month is Logan's turn.

It's Raining.....It's Pouring.....

It's Raining.....It's Pouring.....umm how does that song go? We had a little thunder storm yesterday. It just poured! We actually had a "little river" running through the back yard. I called my sister Becky, who lives across town and it wasn't even raining at her house.

The kids and their cousin Braden decided to play in it. Oh, to be a kid again! It was pretty funny to watch. They got pretty soaked but had a good time. I love that the kids can be uninhibited and don't think they are too old to do that.

Tag! I'm it!

Michele tagged me, I’ll give this a shot...

1. Link to the person who tagged you.

2. Post the rules on your blog.

3. Write six random things about yourself.

4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.

6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

**I cannot sleep in, in the morning. No matter what time I get to bed, I am just awake in the early morning. It makes me mad, but it is just how it is.

**I like chocolate, but it is never my first choice if I have a choice. I will usually pick something else first.

**Dean and I met on a blind date. Three months later we were engaged and three months after that we were married. It didn’t seem like it was too fast at the time, but now when I look back I think that it really was!

**I am an extremely private person. Sometimes being that way just makes life harder. I don’t I don’t like to tell people how old I am. Don’t know why, I guess I am kind of quirky. I am actually older than Dean, but I don’t like to tell people that either. I know it is no big deal, but I just don’t....so don’t ask! :)

**I love to read...but have to limit myself because when I start a book, that is all I want to do.

**One time in high school I slept all night in an elevator. My friend and I were at a function in Logan and stayed in the dorms. Her and I and some girls from another high school (actually a rival school—how weird is that?) decided to take our blankets and pillows and sleep in the elevator all night. I’m not sure how much sleep we actually got. That would be a scary thing to do now with all the wack-o’s out there.

I tag......Michelle, Kelly, and anyone who posts on the Burdick Blog (or is supposed to...and you know who you are!)
